This strand is recommended for all postsecondary faculty and high school or college-level teachers supporting student success in content classes, including dual enrollment, Early College High Schools, Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools, and Career Technical Education Early College High Schools. Leveraging high engagement strategies, participants will design and develop lessons with an emphasis on metacognition for the classroom, laboratory or online. WICOR® (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies will be integrated with intentional opportunities for reflection and connections to instructional design across all disciplines.
This strand requires all participants to have their own device or laptop that can connect to internet access. Participants must bring an acceptable device, power cord, and earbuds/headphones with them to the strand. If a district-issued device is being used, be sure to log in to the device on the district network before attending. Device software and web browser need to be up to date.
