The Site Leaders – New Community of Practice is designed to engage members of elementary and secondary site-based leadership. This learning experience will provide educators with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to accelerate the schoolwide impact of their AVID College and Career Readiness System (ACRS) and achieve the mission of ensuring college and career readiness for all students. Educators will examine the Coaching and Certification Instrument (CCI) and the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework to explore how the four AVID Schoolwide Domains—Instruction, Systems, Leadership, and Culture—can be aligned to create sustainable change that transforms educators and entire campuses. All strategies, digital activities, and digital tools experienced can be leveraged in face-to-face or virtual learning environments.
This Community of Practice requires all participants to have their own device or laptop that can connect to the internet. Participants must bring an acceptable device, power cord, and earbuds/headphones with them to the session. If a district-issued device is being used, be sure to log in to the device on the district network before attending. Device software and preferred web browsers (Chrome or Firefox) need to be up to date.
This learning experience is for new contracted AVID Site Leaders and new Site Leaders at existing sites.
Three-day professional learning through a virtual platform using videoconferencing provides a high-paced, interactive, dynamic learning experience while modeling engaging and rigorous instruction. There will also be an opportunity to engage with colleagues throughout the school year to deepen and broaden learning through Extended Learning Pathways, On-Demand Learning modules, One-to-One Collaborative Coaching, and professional discourse.
