Upon completion of professional learning, educators will have the opportunity to receive a digital badge representing their learning experience.
The Strategic Leadership for College and Career Readiness 2: Systems Community of Practice engages teams of three or more members of district- and school-based leadership. Strategic Leadership 2: Systems focuses on strengthening schoolwide systems thinking, utilizing the Continuous Improvement Cycle (Plan–Do–Study–Act), and developing data analysis and accountability measures to support system-wide capacity building. Participants will learn strategies to effectively lead systems improvement that promotes coherence and increases the intrinsic motivation among teachers and staff to ensure access and opportunity for all students to become college- and career-ready. All strategies, digital activities, and digital tools experienced in this Community of Practice can be leveraged in face-to-face, blended, or virtual learning environments.
This Community of Practice requires all participants to have their own device or laptop that can connect to the internet. Participants must bring an acceptable device, power cord, and earbuds/headphones with them to the session. If a district-issued device is being used, be sure to log in to the device on the district network before attending. Device software and preferred web browsers (Chrome or Firefox) need to be up to date.
- Acceptable devices include laptops, Chromebooks, Surface devices, iPads, and iPad Pros.
- Unacceptable devices include mini iPads, Kindle or Galaxy tablets, and smartphones.
Prerequisites
This learning experience is a follow-up to Strategic Leadership for College and Career Readiness. Partners can select up to 4 days of training focusing on the AVID Schoolwide Domains (Instruction, Systems, Leadership, and Culture) for their Strategic Leadership 2 professional learning experience.
This session is available as a part of:
Four 3-hour professional learning modules through a virtual platform using videoconferencing provide a high-paced, interactive, dynamic learning experience while modeling engaging and rigorous instruction. There will also be opportunities to engage in One-to-One Collaborative Coaching.
Two-day professional learning hosted at a face-to-face location across the United States yearlong provides an excellent way to broaden or deepen the ongoing improvement of instruction and comprehensive culture of student success within your school setting.
